Accessibility Statement

How this site works with assistive technology, and how to tell us when it does not.

Quick Trend Insights is meant to be readable by everyone who comes to it, including people using a screen reader, a keyboard without a mouse, screen magnification, or a browser set to reduce motion. This page sets out what we have built toward that, what we know is still short, and how to tell us when something blocks you.

The standard we work to

We target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. That is the level most accessibility regulations reference, and it covers the things that decide whether a page is usable rather than merely viewable: contrast, keyboard operation, text alternatives, and predictable structure.

What the site does

These are specific, and you can check each of them:

  • A skip link. Press Tab on any page and the first stop is "Skip to main content", which jumps past the masthead, search, and category bar straight to the article.
  • Full keyboard operation. Every control, including the mobile menu, search, theme switch, and pagination, can be reached and used with Tab, Enter, and Escape. Focus is visible wherever it lands.
  • Real headings. Each page has one H1 and a heading structure with no skipped levels, so a screen reader can navigate an article by section. Articles over a certain length carry a table of contents built from those headings.
  • Landmarks. Navigation, main content, the sidebar, the footer, and every advertisement are marked as landmarks and labelled, so ads can be skipped as a unit.
  • Contrast. Body text, links, buttons, and form messages meet the 4.5:1 contrast ratio in both light and dark mode. Links in article text are underlined, not signalled by colour alone.
  • Reduced motion. If your system is set to reduce motion, animations and transitions are switched off rather than merely shortened.
  • Text alternatives. Images carry alt text. Icons that are decoration are hidden from assistive technology instead of being read out as unlabelled graphics.
  • Resizable text. The layout holds at 200% browser zoom without horizontal scrolling or clipped content.

Known gaps

We would rather list these than claim a clean sheet:

  • Advertising. Ads are served by Google AdSense and the markup inside each unit comes from the advertiser, not from us. We control where ads sit, that they are labelled, that they reserve their space so nothing jumps as you read, and that the mobile anchor ad can be dismissed. We cannot control the contrast or alt text inside a given creative.
  • Older articles. Posts published before our current editorial checks may have image alt text that describes the image without conveying its point, or tables without proper headers. We fix these as we find them.
  • Embedded third-party content. Where an article embeds something from another site, that embed follows the other site's accessibility, not ours.
  • No formal audit yet. The work above was done against WCAG 2.1 AA and verified by hand and with automated tooling. It has not been through an independent third-party audit, so we describe this as our target rather than as certified conformance.

Reporting a barrier

If something on this site stops you reading or using it, tell us and we will fix it. Email info.quicktrendinsights@gmail.com or use the contact form.

It helps if you can include the page address, what you were trying to do, and the browser, device, and assistive technology you were using. You do not need any of that to report something: a sentence describing what went wrong is enough.

We aim to acknowledge reports within five working days. Where a fix will take longer than that, we will say what the fix is and when to expect it, and offer the content another way in the meantime.
